Myth portrays Medusa with elongated wings and snaky locks in lieu of hair. Those who gazed upon her with malicious intent would be petrified, yet some perceive her curse as a means of self-defense. Following the beheading of Medusa, Athena affixed her head onto a shield for protection. Revered on shields and breastplates throughout ancient times as a charm against malevolence, she has become a symbol of empowerment for women. Medusa encourages women and individuals who have suffered to amplify their voices and embrace the transformative divine power residing within them.
